SFV-NELA NOW's MISSION STATEMENT
"...equal rights and responsibilities in all aspects of citizenship..."
SFV-NELA NOW’s purpose is to bring women into full
participation in the mainstream of American society
thereof in truly equal partnership with men.  This
purpose includes, but is not limited to equal rights
and responsibilities in all aspects of citizenship,
public service, employment, education, and family
life, and it includes freedom from discrimination
because of age, marital status, sexual preference,
race, class and parenthood.  SFV-NELA NOW
therefore seeks:

•        An end to discrimination based upon race,
creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, political belief
and national origin in all spheres of society
•        Equality of opportunity based upon race, creed,
color, sex, sexual orientation, political belief and
national origin in all spheres of society
•        Better standards of living and social progress
for those in our society who are subjected to the roll
of the dice that has become the fortune or
misfortune of the market economy and for those
who have suffered deprivation from generation to
generation
•        Better understanding and unity amongst
people of all racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds

SFV-NELA NOW seeks to achieve these ends by
political and social action:

•        Running candidates for public office
•        Multi-partisanship, by promoting candidates
who support our ideals regardless of political party
•        Direct legislation through the initiative and
referendum process and supporting the removal of
the corrupt, insidious and ineffective in government
through recalls
•        Publicizing our projects and otherwise
engaging in agitation and propaganda to promote
our ideals
•        Organizing within political and social
organizations to politicize by providing service and
to service by providing politics.
